Michael Sansonia, Music Director, plays almost every Sunday. Is there anything more immediately communal than singing together? A group of people using their very life's breath, create a note - a note that belongs to none of them and to all of them at once. Singing together is a physical, audible manifestation of community. Meaningful lyrics, carried by a pleasing melody, invite a listener to consider ideas and principles they might otherwise not. They can invite the listener to learn, to grow, to expand in new ways. For these and other reasons, music is an integral part of Sunday Service.
Another important source of music is the UUCCN Ad-hoc Musical Ensemble where all are welcome to sing, play their instruments, and have fun! Rehearsals begin at 10:00 am most Sunday mornings for same-day participation in the service. The UUCCN Chorus is a group of dedicated singers. The time and effort they spend learning and practicing becomes a gift to all who attend a service when they perform.
